Athens – Graveside services for Billy Mapp, 80, of Athens are scheduled for Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with Pastor Jonathan Lilley officiating. Services are under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Mapp went to be with his Lord and Savior, January 29, 2019 in Athens.
Billy Dale Mapp was born on December 29, 1938 in Ardmore, Oklahoma the son of Willie Mapp and Mildred Glover. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Airforce. He loved to drink coffee, play dominoes and go fishing. He was a family man who cherished spending time with his family and loved to laugh and smile at most things in life. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help and give to others. He will be loved and missed by all those whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his two daughters Kim Gallegos and husband Jose, Donna Pace and husband Floyd; three sons JD Mapp and wife Trisha, Will Mapp, Kenneth Mapp; his children’s mother, Ethel Mapp; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
