Athens - Funeral Services for Nancy Bush of Athens are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday February 7, 2019 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Athens with Pastor John Michael Cash officiating.
Nancy Bush passed away February 2, 2019 in Athens, Texas.
Nancy Jo Bush was born February 21, 1938 in Dowagiac, Michigan the daughter of C. Fred Gould and Helen Phillips Gould. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and served as Sunday school superintendent. She was a coordinator at the Athens Soup Kitchen. She enjoyed volunteer and community work, especially with the Head Start program. She was a cook at the elementary school in Sister Lakes, Michigan. She was the auxiliary post commander for Disabled American Veterans in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Nancy was known for the great cook that she was. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 34 years Ronald Bush of Athens; four children, Kathy Sanders and husband Edward of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Virgil Edward Hollomon of Malakoff, W. Fredrick Hollomon of Jonesboro Tennessee, Colleen K. Ragland of Athens; two sisters, Mary Latowski and husband Larry of Battle Creek, Michigan and Sue Heater of Hartford, Michigan; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
Her final resting place will be in the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Michigan at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene in Athens; or, the Athens Soup Kitchen.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
