Obituary for Patsy Ann Everett

Athens - Funeral Services for Patsy Everett of Henderson, formerly of Athens are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens with Bro. David Luckert officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens.

Ms. Everett went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 6, 2018 in Tyler, Texas.

Patsy Ann Dykes Everett was born January 7, 1943 in Athens, Texas the daughter of Winston Dykes and Quania West Dykes. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Athens and was very active in her Sunday School Classes and Mission work. She later joined the First United Methodist Church in Henderson where she moved to be with family after retirement. Patsy began her career at East Texas Title Company in 1975 as a secretary and worked for over 37 years before retiring in 2012 as the Title Company Manager. She loved nature; especially gardening, enjoyed cooking and reading; but Mimi’s true love was following her grandbabies activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jimmy Dykes.

Patsy is survived by her daughter Joey Bridges and husband Jason of Henderson; two brothers, Kelly Dykes and wife Mary of Canton, “Tut” Dykes and wife Faye of Pachuta, Mississippi, two grandchildren, Rachel and Ben Bridges of Henderson an niece Toni Hoppes and husband John of Avon, Illinois.

In lieu of plants, memorials may be made to FUMC Henderson or the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m.
